This release is mostly about the Attendee App: the page a registrant lands on when they scan their badge. It has grown from a personal agenda into a small event app — sponsors and exhibitors with their own directory, a way for attendees to trade contact details by scanning each other’s badges, and reports that tell you and your sponsors who engaged with what. None of it needs a native app download or a custom website build: turn the pieces on in App Settings and the theme you already have wraps every page.
- Attendee app
- New: peer to peer lead retrieval. Turn on “Peer to Peer Leads” in App Settings and every attendee gets a Scan Lead option in the app: point the phone camera at another attendee’s badge and that person’s name, company, title, email and phone are saved to a personal leads list, with a notes box to jot down what was discussed. View Leads shows everyone scanned, newest first, with tap-to-call and tap-to-email links. Each attendee’s leads and notes are private to them — so the whole event becomes a networking tool without renting lead-retrieval scanners
- Scan Lead and View Leads appear as big option cards on the landing page, next to Agenda and Sponsors, so attendees find them without hunting for the menu
- New: a “Home Page Event Info” block on App Settings. Whatever you write there (Wi-Fi details, a welcome note, shuttle times) shows on the landing page, and it can merge in the attendee’s own name and registration details like an email does
- New: a “Welcome Header” field on App Settings, merged with the attendee’s name (defaults to “Welcome First Last”), which replaces the generic page title on every Attendee App page
- The app is now three pages instead of one: a landing page with option cards, the personal Agenda, and the Sponsors directory, with a sticky header and a menu that follows you. A Home link in the menu takes you back to the landing page from anywhere
- Sessions that are underway right now get a red “LIVE NOW” badge on the agenda
- Security: scanning a badge no longer shows someone’s personal schedule straight away. The attendee first confirms it’s them with a one-time code sent by email or text, the same way the self-edit login works, so a copied Reg ID can’t pull up another person’s agenda. The two logins recognise each other, so verifying once covers both
- After verifying, the phone is remembered for 30 days, so attendees aren’t asked for a code every time they scan back in. There’s a Log Out option in the menu that also forgets the device, for shared tablets
- The verification text can go to either phone number on file, not just the one labelled Mobile, since many registrants only enter one
- If an attendee adds a session that clashes with one already on their agenda, the app now names the conflict and offers to swap, instead of just refusing
- App Settings switches (Enabled, Show Sessions, Allow Voting and the new ones) save the moment you flip them, no Save button needed
- The “Test the Attendee App” Reg ID field now defaults to the same registrant you use for Test Badge, and there’s a Clear Remembered Device button so you can re-test the verification flow from scratch
- The Attendee App tab now appears in every event’s admin menu. If it isn’t part of your plan yet, clicking it tells you who to contact rather than showing nothing at all
- Scanning a badge on an event that hasn’t turned the app on now shows a clear, themed “not set up” message instead of a bare error page; an unknown badge gets the same treatment
- Fixed: session times on the Attendee App agenda and the registration session picker shifted if the event’s time zone was edited after sessions were scheduled. They now stay at the times you entered
- Sponsors & exhibitors
- New: a Sponsors section under Attendee App where you build company profiles — logo, description, bio, sales contact, website, social links, extra links and videos, plus Sponsor and/or Exhibitor flags. Each company is Pending until you mark it Published, so you can load the list ahead of time
- Companies can be tagged with an Industry and with any number of Sponsorship Types (Gold, Lunch, Lanyard…) that you define per event; both lists are copied when you clone an event
- Bulk import sponsors from a spreadsheet, with a downloadable template, and an Export Sponsors button that produces a file you can edit and upload straight back
- Link a company to the sessions it sponsors, from either the Edit Session or the Edit Company page. With “Show Session Sponsors” on, the attendee’s agenda shows a “Sponsored by” line with the logos under each session
- The attendee-facing Sponsors page lists every published company with a search box that filters as you type. Tapping a company (or a sponsor logo on the agenda) opens a detail panel with the full profile, tappable phone/email/web/social links, and the sessions that company sponsors — each with an Add / Remove button so the attendee can put a sponsored session on their agenda right there
- Sponsor engagement tracking: the app records which attendees opened each company’s profile and which links they tapped. On the admin Sponsors list each company shows how many people engaged and a breakdown by link, expandable to a per-person table, with an Excel download (including email and phone) for follow-up. Deleted registrants are left out so the numbers reflect real interest
- Sponsor staff access: on Edit Company you can nominate people (they must be registrants) who may see attendee data for that company’s sponsored sessions. You choose which sessions (none, all, or a chosen few) and how much detail: counts only, the attendee list, contact info, or feedback too. They sign in with their own badge or self-edit login and get a My Downloads page with one report per session, on screen or as CSV/Excel
- On those sponsor reports, an attendee’s feedback is shown as Anonymous unless they chose to share their contact details when they left the review — a sponsor never sees more than the speaker would
- The admin Sponsors list gained All / Sponsor / Exhibitor filter tabs and the same search box the attendee page has, and the Industries and Sponsorship Types pages are tabs under Sponsors rather than separate menu items
- An Image Size % field on each company lets you shrink or enlarge a logo that doesn’t sit well at the standard size
- Registrant self-edit
- The self-edit pages (My Details, Agenda, Confirmation, Survey) now use the same menu and landing-page cards as the Attendee App, and they render properly on a phone instead of as a shrunk desktop page
- The self-edit Agenda page now shows the same session cards as the Attendee App, with Track / Group / Day filters, immediate add and remove, and star ratings when voting is on — instead of a plain list of the registrant’s picks
- Adding a session from self-edit is only offered during the normal registration window, matching the registration form. Removing is always allowed
- The “edit my registration” link is now a proper button, placed so it can never scroll off the side of the screen when a registration has a long answer in it
- A recognised device skips the one-time code on self-edit login, the same as the Attendee App
- Fixed: moving between self-edit pages could fail with an error after the first page on some events
- Fixed: on forms with a guest section, “Copy Registrant’s Address to this Guest” did nothing when clicked
- Fixed: printing a receipt that included a guest’s fee failed with an error
- Sessions
- Session admission is one setting now. “Open Enrollment” is Pre-registration required, Open, or Added to every agenda. The old “no re-entry” and “until max capacity” variants are folded in: Max Tickets Per Registrant is the re-entry limit (1 for a one-off giveaway, more for drink tickets), and capacity applies to every mode, with blank meaning unlimited. Every scanner (web station, mobile app, onsite desk, USB scanner) now applies exactly the same rule, where before each had drifted slightly
- Only check-in scans count toward a ticket limit; a check-out no longer uses one up
- Each session has a “Reviewable” switch, on by default, controlling whether attendees can rate it and leave feedback. Sessions added to every agenda (a keynote, lunch) can now collect reviews too, which they couldn’t before
- The old Parent Session field is retired; Related Sessions replaced it some time ago
- The session picker on Edit Registrant now opens on Full Agenda instead of My Selections, so changing Track or Date visibly does something. The counts at the top match the rows shown, and sessions that are added to every agenda appear as a locked “included for everyone” card. They also show on the registrant’s own picker so that time slot doesn’t look free
- Fixed: ticking a full session on Edit Registrant quietly put the registrant on the waitlist while looking like a normal enrolment, and saving the page a second time then promoted them. It now says “waitlisted” under the row, and the waitlist starts at max capacity rather than standard
- Fixed: a session with no capacity set waitlisted everyone, including the first walk-up at the onsite desk. No capacity now means unlimited everywhere
- Fixed: an availability profile with Pre-registration unticked still showed its sessions to a registrant who hadn’t picked any yet
- Session import: there’s a downloadable template; “Add to All Agendas” can be set from the file; session titles and track names up to 200 characters are accepted; and a track name that is too long produces a clear per-row message instead of failing the whole batch
- Fixed: a blank capacity cell in a session import skipped that entire row, so a spreadsheet updating some sessions’ capacity silently left the others alone
- Fixed: mapping Course Location or Credits in a session import failed every row
- The Session Review page has date separators between days, like the session list
- The mobile session check-in camera and the native scanner app both now read the Attendee App barcode on a badge (which is a web address, not a bare Reg ID) on any host, with or without a trailing slash
- Session feedback: the three consent options now read as a ladder (anonymous / share my contact info with the speaker / share and they may contact me). The Internal Feedback report names everyone, since staff already hold the roster; the Speaker Feedback report still honours each attendee’s choice
- Registration forms
- Page components have a new “Custom” visibility mode with four independent switches: show on Admin, on the Attendee App, on Self Edit, and on the initial registration. Existing components keep their current setting
- Every themed page — registration forms, self-edit, Attendee App — now tells phones to render at true phone width instead of zooming out a desktop layout. Themes that set their own viewport are left alone. This is what makes the mobile work above possible, but it is worth looking at your registration form on a phone: a form laid out at a fixed desktop width may now scroll sideways rather than shrink
- Fixed: the maximum-registrants filter on a form has never worked — any cap set that way was not capping anything, and the page failed for registrants. It works now
- Choosing a new page component type no longer triggers the browser’s “confirm form resubmission” prompt if you refresh
- Onsite / mobile admin
- Phone-friendly versions of the two-factor sign-in, the events home and search pages, carnets, the equipment list, and Return Equipment. The two-factor code box accepts the code from your phone’s autofill and submits itself on the sixth digit
- Add Items on a carnet, and equipment check-in, can scan the printed labels with the phone camera; each scan is added in place and the camera stays open. A tag already on the carnet is reported rather than added twice
- The onsite registrant search has sortable Last Name, Company and Reg. Date column headers
- Fixed: paging through search results (onsite and admin) kept the sort column but dropped the descending direction
- Fixed: the registrant search page failed when a result had a country on file
- Fixed: saving Edit Registrant (admin or onsite) while someone else — a second click on Save, another station, an import — had just saved the same record failed with an error. The page now blocks a double click, and if another save did land first it reloads the record with a message asking you to review and save again; the other person’s save stands
- Fixed: entering a new registrant with a guest and a balance due failed on save
- Fixed: a badge printed for someone with an emoji in their name downloaded with no filename
- The Printer Command Center and Onsite Notifications tabs are visible to everyone with onsite access, not just system administrators. The Print Queue header shows the total job count
- Fixed: the Upcoming Onsites tab linked to a page that doesn’t exist
- Imports
- Every import (sponsors, sessions, session attendees, contacts, leads, promo codes, hotel confirmations) now shows a live progress bar with real counts, instead of reloading the whole page every three seconds. The heading names the right import rather than always saying “Registrant Import”
- Import results are split into Errors, Warnings and Info. The lead upload used to list a couple of dozen “errors” on a perfectly clean run because it logged its progress there; those are now under Info, and Total Errors is truthful
- Fixed: the mapping step of a session-attendees upload highlighted the wrong tab
- Sign-in & security
- Two-factor authentication is now required for every admin account. An account that hasn’t enrolled is taken to the enrolment page at sign-in rather than merely reminded. We can pause enforcement for a few days for any client caught off guard — contact us
- Fixed: opening a secure admin link while signed out sent you to a non-secure login page and back. Sign-in stays on https throughout
- Signing in at thinkreg.com without the www now sends you to www.thinkreg.com, so you no longer end up with two separate sign-ins depending on which address you typed
- Smaller things
- Buttons across the whole admin use one consistent rounded style
- Fixed: the invoice list, search, open-invoices and accounting pages failed for any invoice without a purchase order, and the New Invoice page failed on open
- Fixed: on the Staff and Billables pages, the “add new” row and Save button were missing and the page footer was cut short
- Fixed: removing an event bookmark could fail with an error
- Fixed: the registrant Agenda PDF printed the receipt instead of the agenda, and two links to it pointed at a retired address
- Queued emails can be selected with checkboxes and deleted in bulk
- On the login page, the Tips panel puts Previous / Next above the article, and long tips are clipped behind “Show more” so they don’t push the login box down
- Fixed: the Edit Company page’s State dropdown listed every state in every country when no country was set; it now defaults to the US
- Theme builder: you can rename a theme on the deploy step instead of editing the zip, and the correct menu item is highlighted
- Fixed: visiting an error page address directly (rather than being sent there) produced a further error
- Error reports now carry the real build date and version of the software that produced them
